Staff Data Scientist

Location: San Francisco (Remote Eligible)

Salary: $200K–$230K base + Equity

We’re looking for a Staff Data Scientist to take on a key leadership role at a rapidly growing travel technology company backed by top investors. In this role, you'll shape and scale machine learning models that drive critical business functions, including lead scoring, pricing, personalization, and fraud detection. This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-scale data challenges in a fast-moving, data-driven environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the development and deployment of ML models for lead scoring, churn prediction, pricing optimization, and personalization.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, analytics, and business teams to ensure actionable insights and measurable impact.
• Own end-to-end data science projects, from data gathering and feature engineering to model selection, inference, and performance monitoring.
• Enhance data infrastructure and analytics capabilities by working closely with data engineers and analysts.
• Translate complex findings into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For:

• 7+ years of experience in Data Science or Machine Learning in high-growth environments.
• MS/PhD in a quantitative / STEM field (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.).
• Deep expertise in machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and feature engineering.
• Proficiency in Python (scikit-learn, numpy, pandas) and SQL.
• Experience with Snowflake and Streamlit is a plus.
• A bias toward simple, effective solutions before adding complexity.
• Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments, with a strong sense of ownership and initiative.
