Overview

Our State College, PA office is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Senior Mechanical (HVAC/Plumbing) Engineer. In-person and remote opportunities are available. The successful candidate will work directly with clients and other staff to bring projects from conceptual design through the successful completion of construction. Specific duties can include project management, mentoring, team management, client development, conceptual design, and fee development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead project teams through all phases of design. This includes development of system designs, directing project teams, project scheduling, budgeting, and cost estimation related to mechanical engineering scope and staff.
  • Maintain existing client relationships and develop new client relationships through the course of project management and business development initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and implement mechanical (HVAC and plumbing) systems for commercial, and institutional buildings.
  • Provide quality control oversight of mechanical system designs for various project types.
  • Mentor staff members and cultivate strategies for their personal and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within overall building design.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot existing HVAC and plumbing systems for retrofits or upgrades, providing innovative solutions to improve performance.
  • Ensure that all work adheres to RH standards as well as applicable building codes, standards (ASHRAE, ASPE, NFPA, etc.), and client requirements.

 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in HVAC or Plumbing design for commercial and institutional facilities.
  • Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree (ABET-accredited) is preferred.
  • Project Management experience leading design teams.
  • Development of system design concepts and implementation of those concepts through all phases of design.
  • Proficiency in Revit is desired but not required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • PE Designation is desirable, but not required.
