Job Title: Research Scientist – Bioanalytical & Molecular Biology

Location: Onsite – Ames, Iowa

Schedule: Full-time | Day Shift | Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm | 40 hrs/week

Remote: No

Contract: Long-term contract (18 months)

Job Summary:

Seeking a Research Scientist to support in vitro bioanalytical research, assay execution, and data analysis within a collaborative team. The role involves hands-on work with mammalian and insect cell cultures, and a variety of molecular and immunological techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and analyze in vitro assays with minimal supervision.
• Accurately document data in notebooks and electronic forms.
• Support data acquisition, reporting, and quality communication within the team.
• Prepare and maintain documentation (e.g., SOPs, protocols, reports).
• Ensure compliance with R&D standards and protocols.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 1+ year of experience in bioanalytical techniques (immunological, molecular, microbiological, virological).
• Experience in mammalian/insect cell culture, cloning, DNA purification, protein expression preferred.
• Proficient in ELISA, Western blotting, qPCR, and assay development.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
• Comfortable learning new assays and technologies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Education:

• BS in a relevant scientific field with 1+ year of experience, or
• MS in a relevant scientific discipline.
