Location: Kansas City, MissouriJob Type: ContractCompensation Range: $27 - 29 per hourOur client is seeking experienced Proofreaders/Editors to support a surge in work volume during their busiest season (September-December). This is a 100% remote role with a shift of 3pm-11pm CST. This role plays a key part in producing high-quality materials and communications for clients in the insurance industry.Successful candidates will have a keen eye for detail, a strong command of grammar and style, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.Responsibilities: Proofread and edit a variety of employee-facing documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, and consistency. Ensure all materials adhere to client-specific style guides and editorial standards. Work quickly and accurately in a deadline-driven environment. Communicate with project managers and team members to ensure timely completion of deliverables. Manage multiple assignments with shifting priorities during peak season. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of professional editing and/or proofreading experience. Excellent command of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage. Strong attention to detail and consistency. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines. Must have reliable access to a computer and internet. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with employee benefits, insurance, or highly regulated industries is a plus. Familiarity with collaborative editing tools (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word track changes).
