In this role, you’ll manage the essential duties that keep the OR running smoothly and safely. You’ll assist surgeons and nurses by preparing the sterile field, arranging and passing instruments, and anticipating needs throughout each procedure. Your responsibilities include scrubbing in, maintaining sterile technique, counting sponges, needles, and instruments, and ensuring all equipment functions properly and is ready for use. You’ll collaborate with anesthesia professionals to support patient safety and comfort, help with positioning and draping, and communicate clearly with team members to coordinate case flow. The position offers substantial room for professional growth: you’ll have opportunities to cross-train across surgical specialties, participate in quality improvement projects, and pursue additional certifications or advanced roles within perioperative services.
