Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and summarize large volumes of legal documents, identifying key information for case strategy.
  • Manage multiple insurance defense cases from inception to resolution, adhering to carrier guidelines.
  • Draft legal documents, pleadings, discovery responses, case summaries, and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw and other platforms to support case development.
  • Assist in preparing trial exhibits, deposition summaries, and evidence presentations.
  • Request, review, and organize medical records, financial records, and other case materials.
  • Maintain case calendars, track deadlines, and ensure timely filing of legal documents.
  • Respond to discovery requests, gather information from clients, and coordinate with opposing counsel.
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, experts, and court personnel regarding case proceedings.
  • Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing case files and drafting trial binders.
  • Ensure compliance with court rules, procedural guidelines, and client expectations.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of paralegal experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to sift through complex legal documents and identify relevant information.
  • Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and legal research tools (Westlaw experience a plus).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience billing hours in a legal setting is a plus.
