Job Description

Position Overview:

Training & On-Site Support Specialist supports assigned practices on all aspects of the revenue cycle specifically focused on front end processes and training but will include resolving payer, provider system set up issues.

ONSITE- Across Bergen, Hudson, Passaic, and Essex Counties (NJ) Travel: Frequent (reliable vehicle required)

Essential Functions:

  • Train and assist new employee/practices with Athena go live for collector and other revenue cycle applications.
  • Coordinates and educate front desk staff, providers, billers and managers through web-based learning and scheduling of 1:1 or group training onsite and virtually.
  • Train on charge entry, claim edits, refunds, and credit balances
  • Front desk workflow, which includes check-ins and outs, collecting copays and the intake process.
  • Deliver follow-up trainings for process or workflow updates
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and handle PHI accurately
  • Maintain responsibility for general and complex administrative support functions to the client as specified by the Account Manager and Director.
  • Works with confidential data and electronic records and enters data in complex data systems.
  • Conducts training of practice staff on the athena system. best practice, conducting root cause analysis, routine reporting and reviews with staff, providers, and practice management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred SKILLS & experience:

  • The candidate must have a minimum of 2+ working in a medical billing environment where compliance with protected health information and HIPAA compliance is strongly enforced.
  • Hands-on experience with athenaOne (registration, eligibility, referrals, charge entry, claim edits, denials, ERA/EOB posting, secondary/COB, refunds/credits)
  • Excellent communications skills. Will be working with practice staff and providers onsite.
  • Experience in full revenue cycle processes and tasks.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle and the ability to travel to different locations as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and practices.
  • Prior training experience
  • Working knowledge of Athena, Outlook, Excel, Epic, Teams and Wrike is preferred.

Work environment:

  • A standard business environment exists with moderate noise levels.
  • Ability to lift and move approximately thirty (30) pounds on a non-routine basis.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

  • Handling – seizing, holding, grasping and fingering of objects, tools and controls
  • Vision – close vision
  • Hearing- ability to receive detailed information through oral and telephonic communication.
