What it's like to be a Graphic Designer at Mid-Ohio Food Collective

As a Graphic Designer at Mid-Ohio Food Collective, you will be responsible for developing visually appealing graphics for various projects, including marketing materials, social media content, and donor communications. Each day, you'll collaborate with team members to understand their design needs, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and brand identity. You will manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality and creativity. Additional responsibilities include.

  • Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity.
  • Develop concepts by hand or with software, and execute original content determining ideal usage of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout.
  • Use trend intelligence and obtain an understanding of the current and historical organization and industry to design materials.
  • Work on a wide range of projects and media, utilizing various computer software to visualize and develop innovative creative material that meets organization goals.
  • Examine existing processes and create solutions to improve design capabilities.
  • Update and maintain internal databases of designs, photography, and video.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status updates and changes.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with outside resources-including third-party vendors and contractors.
  • Participate in special projects as requested.

Additionally, understanding of UI/UX software and process, motion graphics and animation knowledge are preferred.
