Position: Trust & Estate Associate

A boutique law firm based in New Haven, Connecticut, is seeking a skilled Trust & Estate (T&E) Associate to join their growing team. This firm offers a dynamic, multi-practice environment with a strong focus on high-net-worth individuals, providing the opportunity to handle complex and sophisticated trust and estate matters.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced T&E attorney to step into a thriving practice following the upcoming retirement of our most senior T&E counsel at the end of the year. The firm has an active and established T&E practice, and the associate will be expected to contribute immediately to a busy workload, while also working closely with senior attorneys. This role will offer significant exposure to clients and opportunities for professional development and advancement within the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert counsel on trust and estate matters to high-net-worth individuals.
• Manage a range of T&E cases, including complex estate planning, administration, and tax-related issues.
• Take on increasing responsibility for client relationships and business development.
• Work collaboratively with a talented and supportive team of attorneys.

Qualifications:

• 3-7 years of experience in trust and estate law, particularly in handling high-net-worth clients.
• Strong knowledge of estate planning, probate administration, and related tax issues.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to team success.

Additional Information:

• No minimum billable hour requirement, but expect a minimum of 1,400 billable hours annually.
