Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Tig Welder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing precise welding tasks on vacuum chambers and vacuum equipment, ensuring high-quality fabrication including aluminum, stainless steel and carbon steel. This role requires building to a drawing, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on various materials, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.
• Fabricate and assemble metal components according to engineering drawings and project requirements.
• Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing metal parts.
• Conduct inspections using micrometers and other measuring instruments to ensure accuracy in dimensions.
• Follow industry codes and standards while maintaining a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes related to welding and fabrication.
• Operate cranes and forklifts safely when required for moving materials within the workspace.

Skills

• Proficient in TIG welding techniques with a strong understanding of various welding codes and standards.
• Experience in fabricating vacuum chambers or other helium leak tight and assemblies is preferred.
• Strong basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations during the welding process.
• Familiarity with operating power tools and hand tools used in metalworking.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or collaboratively as needed.
