Job Description

The main responsibilities of this position include programming and maintaining a Tableau-based Data Analysis Environment for calibration-related function development. The focus is to program an existing tool within a new software environment to allow generic and company-wide usage, including maintenance programs. This requires interaction not only with other SW Tool development engineers, but also exchange with technical experts to ensure the newly created SW Tool will deliver the output as needed by the engineering teams.

Key Tasks:

• Develop, program, and maintain software tool solution for a more effective vehicle testing and development analysis, and reporting.

• Develop, program, and maintain software, individual R/D-testing data analysis reports for powertrain development teams.

• Active participation in continuous process improvements for internal and external processes.

Minimum level of education required and required field of study:

• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Engineering or Computer Science

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in engineering R&D & and software development field of minimum 3 years, preferably in the automotive industry.

• Master's degree with emphasis in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

Top Must-Haves:

• Multiple coding languages, Database knowledge, Data structures and algorithms, Testing procedures, Debugging knowledge, Operating systems, Text editing software

• Very good comprehension of complex and complicated project and vehicle-specific issues.

• Excellent technical communication in general – oral, meetings, emails, phone calls.

• Ability to think out-of-the-box and high willpower to push the team forward through optimizing solution approaches.

Skills:

• Automotive Knowledge: Knowledge of current automobile technology, vehicle electrical and onboard diagnostics, nd communication architectures, assembly structure, modules, and parts. General knowledge of vehicle functions.

• Programming Skills: Knowledge and experience with programming and coding in multiple languages, including Python, JavaScript, SQL, database programming, MATLAB, and MS Excel VBA. Database knowledge, Data structures and algorithms, Testing procedures, Debugging knowledge, Operating systems, and text editing software are must-haves for a software developer's skills

• Project Management Skills: Ability to control projects from conceptualization to implementation. Clear understanding of controlling key performance indicators and effective reporting.

• Interpersonal and Team skills: Experience in an intercultural environment. Experience working in a complex organizational structure.

• Analytic or systems engineering Knowledge: ability to identify issues, analyze and evaluate problems, develop solutions and scenarios, evaluate alternative solutions based on established criteria and decision making.

• Organization and leadership skills: Ability to organize workflows within the TechCenter and with all external partners, especially with the durability service suppliers.

• Analytic or systems engineering knowledge: Experience, or willingness to learn, in the troubleshooting of data-logger equipment and database systems to identify logger issues and to analyze and determine failure root causes and find solutions.

• Soft skills for software developers: communication, problem solving, critical thinking, analytical mindset, adaptability, time management, accountability, persistence and patience,and emotional intelligence
