LOOKING for a civil estimator to work 100% onsite in Destin FL
My client is seeking a skilled Civil Estimator to support their expanding sports surfacing operations. This role will be responsible for preparing detailed takeoffs and cost estimates for athletic construction projects, including running tracks, tennis courts, and other specialized athletic surfaces. The Estimator will analyze construction documents, coordinate with subcontractors, and help develop competitive bids for site preparation, grading, drainage, and surfacing.
The ideal candidate brings experience in civil construction estimating with a strong understanding of athletic facility needs and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare accurate takeoffs and estimates for site preparation, grading, drainage, concrete, and asphalt scopes related to athletic surfaces.
· Analyze construction drawings and specifications to ensure project alignment and compliance.
· Submit RFIs as needed to clarify existing conditions and project scope.
· Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure a streamlined estimating process.
· Analyze historical cost data and market trends to support pricing accuracy.
· Provide value engineering options to enhance bid competitiveness.
· Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids in excavation, grading, concrete, asphalt, and surfacing.
· Conduct occasional site visits to confirm conditions and measurements.
· Participate in pre-construction meetings and assist with early-stage scheduling and planning.
· Support a seamless project handoff to operations by maintaining organized and complete estimate documentation.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· 3+ years of estimating experience in civil construction, preferably with athletic or sports facility work.
· Familiarity with relevant trade associations (e.g., ASCE, ACI, or similar) is a plus.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools is preferred.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
· Willingness to travel as needed for site assessments and meetings.
