We’re looking for a Senior Recruiter (CONSTRUCTION Telecommunications Engineers, Project Managers/Engineers, Programmers, Commissioners, Inspectors & Telecom Technicians to join a dynamic and growing team within a leading engineering and construction, electrical security systems and infrastructure technology company , for their Fairfax County, VA location. This is your chance to play a key role in building elite technician teams that support high-profile, complex, and mission-critical environments across the U.S.

What You’ll Do

  • Recruit top-tier technical talent for telecommunications and construction roles—technicians, inspectors, installers, commissioners, programmers, and more.
  • Work closely with hiring managers and stakeholders to understand project needs , especially those involving government or sensitive infrastructure.
  • Source candidates through a mix of targeted outreach, industry platforms, and professional networks.
  • Assess talent for experience in telecommunications design, installation, commissioning, inspection, station monitoring, and hazard system integration.
  • Guide candidates through security clearance processes , onboarding, and compliance requirements.
  • Build and maintain a proactive pipeline of cleared or clearable telecommunications and electronic systems professionals to meet current and future project demands.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment lifecycle, high-volume and project-based staffing from strategy to placement, while ensuring compliance with OFCCP guidelines.
  • Leverage data and CRM tools to optimize recruitment processes , track KPIs, and ensure transparent reporting.

Who You Are - Core Qualifications for a Recruiter in Telecommunications Construction:

  • Experienced: 5+ years recruiting in the telecommunications, electronic security systems, engineering or construction technology industry . You understand the lingo, the talent pool, and what “good” looks like in the field.
  • Technical Knowledge: Comfortable speaking the language of telecommunications systems (low-voltage cabling, fiber optics, wireless systems, RF, etc.)
  • Understanding of infrastructure and construction environments (data centers, commercial buildings, government sites)

Knowledge of roles like:

  • Field Technicians : Install/test copper/fiber cabling, run lines, troubleshoot
  • Installers : Mount hardware, connect wiring, ensure code compliance
  • Programmers : Configure telecom systems (e.g., AV, access control, fire alarm)
  • Inspectors : Verify compliance with NEC/NFPA codes, telecom specs, and site safety
  • Ability to read and understand job specs, SOWs, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
  • Familiar with certifications/licenses (e.g., BICSI, OSHA 10/30, NICET, FOA)
  • Comfortable assessing experience with tools and platforms (Fluke testers, OTDRs, CAD, field service software)
  • Relationship-Driven: You thrive on collaboration, communication, and building trust with both candidates and hiring teams.
  • Organized & Agile: Able to juggle multiple high-priority requisitions while delivering an excellent candidate experience.
  • Clearance-Savvy: Familiar with or able to support the government security clearance process.
  • Self-Starter: You don’t wait for direction—you anticipate needs and move fast with purpose.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior recruitment for telecom or electrical contractors
  • Exposure to federal/GOVCON projects with clearance requirements
  • Experience supporting construction timelines with tight mobilization schedules

Preferred Background

  • Hands-on experience recruiting telecommunications technicians, programmers, commissioners, inspectors, or engineers
  • Familiarity with ESS, PLCs, or life safety design/commissioning
  • Strong command of CRM/ATS platforms (HubSpot, iCIMS, etc.)
  • Comfortable traveling to customer or job sites as needed (~30%)
