Job Title: Senior Photographer/Videographer - WPXI TV

Position Overview

WPXI TV Pittsburgh is looking for a visual storyteller who has a passion for news and who wants to make an impact in their community. Photographers work with reporters in the field to gather and deliver visually creative and compelling stories. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of all aspects of their work, thrives in breaking news coverage, and understands the value of local news in the community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit compelling local news stories that are clear and easy to understand
• Work well under pressure and demonstrate decisiveness in the field
• Operate and maintain a professional video camera and related news gathering equipment. This includes a laptop, iPhone, and LiveU among other gear
• Understand non-linear editing techniques that support meeting deadlines while creating meaningful, visual stories
• Operate and maintain LiveU backpacks and the LU Smart iPhone app
• Demonstrate a sense of ownership of all technical aspects of the job and troubleshoot from the field when needed
• Collaborate with reporters to create visual stories, active live shots, and teases while making multiple daily deadlines
• Manage your time to make deadlines when working solo or with a reporter
• Work safely in all weather conditions while lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds of equipment as needed
• Communicate vehicle maintenance needs and possess a valid driver's license.
• Work all shifts scheduled, including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional experience working as a TV news photographer
• 3-5 years of news editing experience, preferably using Avid editing software
• Working knowledge of bonded cellular backpacks and applications
• A college degree in Journalism or TV Broadcasting
• Avid Media Composer experience preferred
