Job Description

Ready to Shape the Future of Data Science in a Global Consumer Brand?

A major player in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) space is building a next-generation data science capability—and is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to be at the forefront. This is a unique opportunity to drive high-impact analytics in a brand recognized worldwide, working on cutting-edge models with real-world impact seen across thousands of locations.

About the Company

Backed by a world-class private equity firm, the company is undergoing a data-driven transformation to unlock smarter decision-making and optimize restaurant performance globally. With millions of transactions daily, there's no shortage of data—nor ambition. The Strategy & Analytics team is lean, collaborative, and fast-moving, with strong executive support and a mandate to build from the ground up.

About the Role

The Senior Data Scientist will help close a technical gap on the team and will play a pivotal role in building and productionalizing models that influence customer strategy, restaurant operations, and business performance. This is a net-new position created due to growth, offering a high level of ownership, visibility, and long-term leadership potential.

The role is based in Miami, FL , with a hybrid structure (typically onsite 4x/week, Fridays remote), and will report to the Senior Director of Strategy & Analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Productionalize and scale predictive models in the company’s ecosystem (e.g., traffic, customer performance, segmentation)
  • Lead marketing analytics initiatives under a new CMO, including customer segmentation and value modeling
  • Work closely with IT teams to ensure successful model deployment using AWS (especially SageMaker)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across departments, including HQ and international teams
  • Present insights and model outputs clearly to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders
  • Help lay the groundwork for future data science talent and best practices

Skills & Experience You’ll Need

  • 6–10+ years of hands-on data science experience, ideally in QSR, retail, or consumer product industries
  • Strong fluency in Python and SQL
  • Proven ability to independently build, deploy, and monitor models in AWS (preferably SageMaker)
  • Strong understanding of A/B testing and causal inference
  • Broad modeling exposure across segmentation, forecasting, classification, etc.
  • Comfortable using GitHub and version control tools
  • Excellent communicator with executive presence and the ability to push back with data
  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred; PhD acceptable if not overly research-focused
  • Bonus: Experience in Go or Scala, marketing mix modeling

What Makes This Role Special

  • Greenfield opportunity : Help build a new data science capability from scratch
  • Massive data scale : Rich 1st and 3rd party datasets to experiment and drive value
  • Direct impact : See your work deployed and implemented globally
  • Strong backing : Supported by a top-tier private equity firm focused on growth
  • Career runway : Clear progression path into a Director-level role
  • Collaborative culture : Join a small, high-functioning team with a diverse set of backgrounds

Compensation

  • Base salary up to $190,000
  • Annual bonus of 20%
  • Relocation considered with lump sum package (local candidates preferred)
  • TN visa sponsorship available (no broad sponsorship)

Location: Miami, FL (Onsite 4x/week)

Interested in using data to drive global impact across thousands of locations? This could be the opportunity to make your mark.
