Join Our Team as a Surgical Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center!

Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families?

At Legacy Health, we’re not just a health care provider — we’re a community that values compassionate care, teamwork, and the expertise of our nurses. We’re looking for dedicated, skilled RNs who want to join our exceptional team at Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center, where you’ll have the opportunity to impact lives in a truly meaningful way. If you’re passionate about nursing and want to be part of a place where you’re respected, supported, and challenged, we want to hear from you!

About Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center:

Nestled in the heart of vibrant Northwest Portland, Legacy Good Samaritan is renowned for its cutting-edge care and specialty programs. Plus, we’re proud to offer Oregon’s only 24-hour urgent care center right next to our emergency room — ensuring seamless care for those in need, day or night. Here, you’ll be part of a legacy of excellence in health care, delivering care to the community with compassion and dedication.

Your Role as a Registered Nurse (RN):

Working closely with clinical managers and other healthcare professionals, you’ll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, always ensuring the highest standards of safety and compassion.

This is your chance to take ownership of your patients’ care and make a lasting impact on their health and well-being. You’ll work collaboratively with physicians, specialists, and support staff to create comprehensive care plans and deliver the best outcomes.

  • Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, holistic care for every patient.
  • Advocate for patients by offering education and emotional support, helping them navigate their health journeys.
  • Leverage cutting-edge electronic health systems to accurately document patient information and provide seamless care.

Career Path Opportunities:

  • Mentor and teach fellow nurses, sharing your knowledge and experience.
  • Step into leadership roles, with the chance to become a Charge RN.
  • Expand and develop your leadership skills in a supportive environment.
  • Enjoy the flexibility to transfer across specialty departments within our large hospital system, exploring new areas of care.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program as required by licensure.
  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) is strongly preferred. If you’re working towards your BSN, we encourage you to apply!
  • For certain roles, a BSN is required. We also consider RNs without a BSN based on clinical experience and with approval from the Chief Nursing Officer.

Experience:

  • At least one year of nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program (or equivalent program).
  • Acute care experience preferred, this unit will train nurses that have a strong desire to learn and grow.

Skills & Qualities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to connect effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to navigate and utilize electronic health systems.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities — because in this role, every day is different, and your expertise will make all the difference.
