Job Description

*Please apply on our website:

If you are a postdoc or licensed clinical psychologist who thrives in a dynamic work environment and wants to cultivate their craft, we want to hear from you!

Philadelphia Couples Therapy is a woman-founded, owned and led, doctoral-level group practice geared toward a twofold mission: creating a professional environment for clinicians that is supportive, collaborative, and ultimately a place to call ‘work home,’ and providing the best support possible for couples in all phases and stages of romantic development.

Clinicians will see both individuals and couples, and for those who are interested, run groups. Clinicians can also administer both couples and individual assessments, which is a gratifying way to diversify your professional life. Our cutting edge couples treatment team is sustained through extensive consultation, supervision, and training of clinicians in addition to just plain old enjoyment of the workplace.

About us:

Our suite is in the historic Wells Fargo building on the 22nd floor with expansive views of the Delaware River, a space that provides a warm and inviting clinical environment for our clinicians to spend the day. Our culture is one of open doors and friendly clinical consultation, allowing for maximum professional and personal growth– after all, as a therapist personal and professional growth go hand in hand!

At our practice, clinicians can focus solely on their clients—we take care of the rest. We handle all billing, insurance, and intake scheduling, and provide a consistent flow of referrals so there’s no need for marketing. Clinicians receive highly competitive pay and benefits, weekly individual supervision with the Clinical Director, group case consultation, and the support of a warm, collaborative team—all in a thoughtfully designed, beautiful office space.

We understand that many clinicians in the mental health field are also caregivers, mentors, and community leaders. We honor the whole person and are committed to creating a work environment where your personal life is respected, your voice is valued, and your clinical skills are continuously nurtured.

Minimum requirements:

  • Doctorate in psychology (PhD, PsyD)
  • Licensed in PA or working toward licensure
  • Interest in couples work and at least three years of adult individual outpatient therapy experience. No couples therapy experience required - we will train you!
  • Prepared to wholly and thoughtfully dive into a full-time position (25 scheduled clinical hours per week or more, 20+ seen)
  • Passionate about doing therapy and persistently deepening clinical and theoretical knowledge
  • Personally growth and insight-oriented
  • Deeply interested in working collaboratively in a treatment team model
  • We are looking to fill both a postdoctoral and a licensed clinical psychologist position. If either one of these describes you, please either apply or inquire with us to see if we would be a good fit.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $72 - $145/hour, depending on both tenure and number of clients seen per week
  • $3000 signing bonus
  • 10 to 15 days of PTO yearly depending on tenure and 3 floating holidays
  • Healthcare stipend and group health plan
  • 3% 401k company matching contribution
  • A wide range of couples therapy training including Gottman, EFT and RLT
  • Weekly supervision and emergent support
  • Weekly 1 hour case conference
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Continuing education trainings provided and additional yearly CE stipend
  • Consultation with other staff psychologists both scheduled and on demand
