Akkodis is seeking a IT Systems Engineer for 10 Months contract position with a client located in in Kenai, Alaska 99611 (Anchorage). Ideally looking for applicants with a strong working knowledge or experience with IT System Engineer with a strong focus on Operational Technology (OT), networking, and server administration. This role supports critical infrastructure and requires hands-on expertise in both IT and OT environments comes as a plus.

Duration : 10 Months

Pay Range: $42/hr on W2 - $46/hr on W2 (without benefits) ,the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location and other factors.

Job Description:

We are seeking an Experienced IT System Engineer with a strong focus on Operational Technology (OT), networking, and server administration. This role supports critical infrastructure and requires hands-on expertise in both IT and OT environments .

Summary:

Responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems and networks. Ensures smooth operations, resolves complex technical issues, implements security measures, manages upgrades, and monitors performance. May also develop backup procedures and disaster recovery plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain IT systems and networks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Implement and manage system security protocols.
• Perform system upgrades and monitor performance.
• Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans.

Required Skills & Experience:

Platform Management:

• Server, compute, storage, and networking tools.
• Understanding of OT’s role in operational continuity.

Server & Virtualization:

• VMware and Hyper-V experience.
• Resource allocation, performance tuning, capacity planning.

Windows Server Administration:

• Installation, configuration, and management.
• Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, DHCP, DNS, IIS.
• SCCM and automation scripting.

Network Management:

• Switches, routers, firewalls.
• VPNs, segmentation, IDS/IPS.

Operational Technology (OT):

• Preferred experience with DCS and SCADA systems.

IT Domain Expertise:

• Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, Windows Server

Virtualization Expertise:

• Hands-on with VMware or Hyper-V

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving
• Systems architecture knowledge
• Ability to communicate technical info to non-technical staff.
