PLANNING PRACTICE

DESCRIPTION

Under supervision of the Department Manager/Technical Manager and/or Cultural Resources Director, an Archaeologist III serves as an Archaeological Principal Investigator/Senior Archaeologist, task manager, and/or project manager for archaeological projects. May also serve as principal lead for specialized laboratory or
material culture analyses.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all aspects of archaeological projects from project inception to closeout, including project budgets, scope development, invoicing, workplan development, fieldwork, artifact analyses, site interpretation, and National Register of Historic Places recommendations
  • Conduct proposal and business development
  • Perform client management
  • Perform Native American outreach/consultation
  • Compile and prepare organized, thorough CRM/archaeology-related documents and/or reports
  • Prepare project contextual statements
  • Interpret field findings, site development processes, and stratigraphy
  • Provide regular project updates to the Technical Manager/ Department Manager and/or Cultural Resources
    Director and/or Michael Baker project manager, as well as the client
  • Assign appropriate project personnel
  • Supervise or perform specialized analyses, if applicable
  • Must be willing to travel


PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Listed in, or eligible for listing in, the Register of Professional Archaeologists.
  • Meets the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Archaeology.


COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position $97,593.60 - $153,732.80 p er year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
