As the Materials Manager, you will oversee all inventory, ordering, and warehousing functions for our SFO production center, handling over $5–6M in monthly food and equipment inventory across 2,000+ SKUs (perishable, non-perishable, frozen, chilled, and dry goods). You’ll manage a team of 60+ employees, including 4 buyers, 4 supervisors, and a large union-represented warehouse workforce. Your impact will be felt daily by ensuring materials are where they need to be on time and in full, to support round-the-clock food production and flight schedules.

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Oversee all aspects of food, equipment, and beverage inventory.

  • Collaborate with Procurement and vendors to optimize ordering, receiving, and inventory controls.
  • Implement perpetual inventory systems, variance reporting, and demand forecasting protocols.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for SAP MM, food inventory systems, and equipment management tools.
  • Align local processes with global supply chain strategy and compliance standards (USDA, FDA, OSHA, HACCP).

  • 3+ years of team leadership with unionized workforce and multi-site responsibilities preferred
  • SAP MM expertise and high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge of demand planning, vendor management, and lean supply chain practices
  • Proven success leading cost reduction initiatives, process optimization, and KPI performance improvements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—confident working with vendors, leadership, and frontline teams

Additional Strengths:

  • Experience in airline catering, food manufacturing, hospitality, or logistics industries preferred
  • Comfortable working flexible schedules based on business needs
  • Fluency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese) a plus
