Position Summary
The LMS Administrator is responsible for administering the PowerTrain Learning Management System (LMS) in support of PRISM training operations. This role configures and maintains the platform, manages users and permissions, ensures data integrity and security, supports reporting and analytics, and partners with training and program leadership to modernize and enhance LMS capabilities.
Key Information
Work Location: Primarily off-site (contractor location). Occasional meetings may be required in the Baltimore/Washington, DC area, including at CMS facilities.
Travel: No travel is expected or required; any travel is discretionary based on work needs.
Work Authorization: USC and GC only
Security: Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust 6 (PT6) background investigation for CMS logical access.
Accessibility: Ensure the LMS and all training content delivered through the LMS support Section 508 compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
· Administer and maintain the PowerTrain (Callisto) Learning Management System (LMS), including system configuration and ongoing maintenance.
· Manage LMS settings, user interface, browser compatibility, and platform performance; apply updates and support security patches as required.
· Create and manage user accounts, roles, and permissions; ensure appropriate access controls and data integrity.
· Respond to user inquiries and troubleshoot issues, including account access, course delivery, completion tracking, and reporting problems.
· Develop and maintain LMS documentation, job aids, and user guides; support trainer enablement and process standardization.
· Develop and run LMS reports and analytics to support training operations, compliance tracking, and program performance outcomes.
· Manage course catalogs and course content structure; implement templates for online, blended, and instructor-led training formats.
· Coordinate with trainers to publish, version, and retire training content; ensure course materials meet Section 508 accessibility requirements.
· Support LMS modernization initiatives, including automation, dashboards, and integrations with project management tools and cybersecurity platforms.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Instructional Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
·5+ years of experience administering enterprise Learning Management Systems, including user/role administration, reporting, and content management.
·2+ years of hands-on experience administering PowerTrain LMS.
· Experience supporting Section 508-compliant training delivery and accessibility best practices for web-based content.
· Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to communicate clearly with end users and stakeholders.
· Experience with data quality and basic security practices for SaaS platforms (access control, least privilege, auditability).
· Ability to obtain and maintain CMS Public Trust 6 (PT6).
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience implementing LMS integrations (APIs, SSO, reporting/data exports) and automation workflows.
· Experience building dashboards and learning analytics for executive and operational reporting.
· Familiarity with federal cybersecurity and privacy requirements impacting training platforms and content.
