A well-established firm in Omaha, NE, is actively seeking a Junior Environmental and Land Use Attorney with 2+ years of experience. This is a recent opening for a motivated associate to handle regulatory, transactional, and litigation aspects of environmental and zoning law. Key Responsibilities:
• Draft and review environmental permits, licenses, and applications
• Conduct legal research, draft motions, manage discovery, and assist in trial preparation
• Counsel clients on environmental compliance, including Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, NEPA, CERCLA, and state statutes
• Support zoning and land use planning for development and infrastructure projects
• Perform environmental due diligence for real estate transactions, including Phase I/II assessments
• Monitor regulatory changes and develop client-facing alerts and advisories
Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience in environmental and land use law
• Bar admission in Nebraska (or eligible for admission)
• Strong background in state and federal environmental regulation
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent legal research, drafting, and communication skills
Skills:
• Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)
• Familiarity with e-filing systems and regulatory databases
• Attention to detail and analytical rigor
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-disciplinary team
• Client-focused communication and problem-solving
