Job Description

A leading IT Infrastructure Security client of Insight Global is seeking to hire an Alarm Technician in the Wichita, KS market. This lead technician will be responsible for overseeing the installation of all fire/security low-voltage equipment in big box retail stores for customers such as Walmart, Kroger, Home Depot, Target, and many more. This role is contract-to-hire, fully onsite, and compensates $25-35/hour depending on years of experience, skillset, and education.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, testing, and programming Fire alarms, Burglar alarms, Access Control panels, CCTVs, POS systems, and more. When the stores are under operations and cannot have installations go on while they are open for business, you will work overnight (10pm-7am). Depending on the need/project, you may be on the road for a few days at a time. All expenses (hotel/gas/per diem) will be paid for.

Day-to-Day

• Perform service work on customer site, based on schedule
• Provide regular updates (email responses/information) to Project Management Team(s), Resource Center and Service Center in a timely manner
• Act as point of escalation for clients; resolve issues where possible, otherwise escalate to Supervisor and Project Team(s)
• Provide complete structured cabling system installations in a variety of retail, financial and office building environments.
• Terminate and test Category 5e and 6 copper cables to manufacturer and BICSI standards
• Terminate and test Multi-mode fiber to manufacturer and BICSI standards
• Install/service equipment racks, cabinets, and cable support systems, including J-hooks, Arlington straps and ladder tray systems

Role Requirements include...

• At least 2 years of installing/programming/troubleshooting Fire and Security Alarms in large commercial retail stores
