Job Description

Our client, a leading industrial manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Industrial Operations Supervisor to oversee daily plant operations in Ayer, MA. This is a hands-on leadership role managing a small team and ensuring safe, efficient production in a highly physical industrial environment.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot equipment issues and support continuous production.
• Coordinate materials flow and ensure timely delivery of finished products.
• Operate machinery and assist operators as needed to maintain workflow.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DEP, and environmental/safety requirements.
• Support special projects to improve efficiency, sustainability, and plant performance.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of automated production systems and heavy equipment.
• Lead, coach, and schedule a team of 3 employees to ensure productivity, safety, and quality.
• Analyze production and downtime data to identify process improvements using Lean concepts.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment and safety compliance.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in industrial manufacturing environments.
• Full physical mobility (walking, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., outdoor work exposure)
• Background in industries such as recycling, aggregate, quarries, oil & gas, or paper/pulp.
• Experience with automated or computerized processing equipment (conveyors, PLC-driven machinery, sorting systems, packaging lines, etc.)

Preferred Skills:

• ERP/MES software experience (Loop ERP, DELMIAWorks, or similar)
• Certifications such as Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, CMOP, or CMPO.
• Proven success driving Lean process improvements and managing budgets.
• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, business administration, or related field.
