Job Description

We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer with a background in Geology, Environmental Science, or Environmental Engineering who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment. Candidates must reside in or near Austin, TX , and have direct experience with Texas regulations and field conditions. This is a field-forward position with a focus on practical problem-solving and project leadership in the central Texas region .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct geotechnical investigations including site reconnaissance, subsurface explorations, soil/rock classification, and in-situ testing
  • Analyze data for foundation design, slope stability, settlement analysis, and pavement recommendations
  • Prepare detailed geotechnical reports with practical engineering solutions
  • Develop project scopes, proposals, and budgets; assist with project management and client communications
  • Oversee field exploration programs, coordinate lab testing, and ensure QA/QC on deliverables
  • Work closely with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with TXDOT, TCEQ, and other Texas-specific environmental/geotechnical regulations
  • Mentor junior staff and support business development through local networking and technical presentations

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering or applied environmental consulting
  • PE or the ability to obtain PE in Texas within 12 months
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, gINT, GeoStudio, or similar software
  • Strong writing skills and experience preparing detailed technical reports
  • Current driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites across Central Texas
