Facilities Manager
The Desert Southwest Conference is seeking a Facilities Manager for Camp Mingus Mountain located in Prescott Valley, AZ. This role is responsible for ensuring the camp’s grounds and facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained. The Facilities Manager also ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, and upholds ACA accreditation standards. Essential Functions:
· In collaboration with the Camp Director, ensure adherence to the site’s Risk Management Plan.
· Oversee every aspect of the physical property, including but not limited to buildings, grounds and vehicles.
· Ensure that all facilities and equipment are routinely inspected and that any necessary repairs are completed in a timely manner. Schedule and perform testing according to local, county,
state and ACA standards. This includes, but is not limited to:
o Water System
o Septic/Waste Management System
o Gas/Propane System
o Kitchen equipment (i.e. hood, fire suppression, plumbing, refrigerators, etc.)
o Buildings (i.e. roof, steps, flooring, pest inspection and control, etc.)
· Ensure facility is prepared for guest groups.
· Identify and correct safety hazards.
· Ensure continual compliance with all ACA standards.
· Maintain required safety logs on all systems.
· Ensure that all camp vehicles are licensed, insured and maintained and are in good operating condition.
· Ensure grounds are maintained to assure minimal risk of injury to persons using the camp.
· Complete monthly reports, logs, and reviews, as needed.
· Identify additions/modifications to facilities to meet needs. Communicate these to the Camp Director and to the Board in a timely manner.
· Actively work to reduce the risk of fire hazards, including but not limited to annual inspections, removal of fire fuel and conducting drills with user groups.
· Work with service/volunteer groups on facility improvements.
· Responsible for building an annual maintenance budget in collaboration with the Camp Director.
· Partner with the Camp Director to create processes, protocols, and policies regarding operation, maintenance, housekeeping, and hospitality.
· Ensure compliance with all processes, protocols and policies regarding operations, maintenance, housekeeping and hospitality.
· Protect the physical assets of the Conference by ensuring that all tools, equipment and vehicles at the site are operated and maintained in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
· Advise the Camp Director of significant occurrences at the camp site.
· Identify when additional maintenance or housekeeping staff are required, and with the Camp Director, hire and supervise maintenance and housekeeping staff.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma is required, some college or technical training preferred.
· Must be culturally sensitive and demonstrate experience working with multi-ethnic groups.
· Knowledge of a variety of building maintenance procedures and techniques.
· Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for basic maintenance and repair facility and equipment.
· Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
· Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
· Skilled in using hand and power tools.
· Must obtain and maintain water and waste system licenses as required by the state.
· Knowledge of and familiarity with the United Methodist structure is helpful.
Physical Requirements:
· Physical ability to lift and work outside in all weather conditions.
· Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Additional Considerations:
· May be required to reside on-site to ensure timely response to operational needs per the direction of the Camp Director.
