About the Role

As the Distribution Center Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of our distribution center's operations. You will be responsible for managing a team of supervisors and associates, optimizing processes, and ensuring the timely and accurate distribution of products to our customers. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of distribution center operations.

** Shift Schedule: Friday to Sunday, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM **

  • Team Leadership: Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of supervisors and warehouse associates to ensure high levels of performance, engagement, and productivity
  • Operational Excellence: Continuously improving distribution center processes to maximize efficiency, accuracy, and safety while minimizing costs
  • Inventory Management: Overseeing inventory control and management, ensuring accuracy in stock levels, tracking, and cycle counting
  • Quality Assurance: Implementing and maintaining quality control measures to meet or exceed product quality standards
  • Logistics Coordination: Collaborating with transportation and logistics teams to optimize delivery schedules and transportation routes
  • Health and Safety: Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety within the distribution center
  • Performance Metrics: Setting and monitoring KPIs, tracking performance metrics, and implementing corrective actions as needed to achieve operational goals
  • Budget Management: Developing and managing the distribution center budget, controlling expenses and optimizing resource allocation
  • Vendor Relations: Coordinating with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely deliveries and resolving any issues that may arise
  • Technology Utilization: Implementing and leveraging warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology tools to enhance operational efficiency
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings and leading initiatives to implement them
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all relevant industry regulations and standards
  • Other duties as assigned

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in distribution center management or similar roles within the logistics industry
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of distribution center operations, inventory management, and logistics
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and related software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance in warehouse operations
  • Budget management experience is a plus

Work Environment

  • This position is based in the warehouse with regular exposure to extreme temperatures dependent on external climate and proximity to dock doors/exits. Occasional time is spent in a climate-controlled office/meeting room setting
  • Regular exposure to moderate noise level from DC conveyor/sortation system and powered industrial equipment when in the warehouse

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000 per year.

The salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data for geographic locations. Ariat in good faith believes that this posted compensation range is accurate for this role at this location at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
