Job Description

Job Profile:

The Custodian is responsible for cleaning areas of the various locations and office buildings.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Follow procedures for the use of all chemical cleaners.
• Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner
• Clean building floors and stairways by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming
• Empty trash cans and recycling containers
• Dust furniture, window blinds and office equipment
• Clean and disinfect washrooms and fixtures
• Wash windows and blinds using appropriate cleaners and squeegees
• Notify management concerning the need for major repairs to buildings
• Remove snow and ice from walkways, doorways using snow shovels and spread snow melting chemicals
• Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties

• Follow prescribed safety standards, rules and regulations
• Instill a safety culture; lead by example
• Identify and record non-conformities and participate in their resolution
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Recommend improvements and develop improvement plans in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions
• Maintain a well-organized and clean facility as per PMP vision
• Maintain all equipment and tools per recommended procedures
• Ability to work as a respectable, professional and efficient team member
• Maintain a healthy work environment and develop employees on a professional level

Qualifications:

• Completion of Grade 12 or GED
• One year janitorial experience
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products with a willingness to learn

Shifts:

Part Time - 20 hours per week
Full Time - 40 hours per week
