Job Description

The position will be responsible for managing and guiding our employees through benefits, leave, and wellness programs. The Benefits and Leave Specialist will be an integral part of the Total Rewards Team responsible for the administration of existing health and welfare programs such as Health, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience with benefits administration and to include Leave of Absence administration, self-funded medical insurance plans, and open enrollment administration.

Duties:

  • First point of contact for Benefits Administration. Manage daily benefit transactions and processes within Dayforce.
  • Support new hire orientation by providing an overview of employee benefits, answering questions, and ensuring timely completion of benefits enrollment.
  • Audit and reconcile benefits eligibility data from Dayforce to various benefit carriers
  • Manage Leave & Disability Claims. Partner with third-party administrators and HR Managers to facilitate all company leaves of absence, including disability, parental, FMLA and military leaves according to federal, state and local legislation
  • Collaborate with Payroll on medical support notices, paid parental leave, benefit premium collection when on LOA, and other LOA tasks
  • Administer benefit enrollment activity to include new hire, qualifying event changes and termination of medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D, short- and long-term disability, supplemental insurance products, HSA, FSA and Cafeteria Plans for all North American locations.
  • Audit monthly invoices against payroll deductions and online enrollment statuses to check for discrepancies.
  • Assist with monthly and annual compliance reporting to include ACA and OSHA.
  • Develop, implement and manage Corporate Wellness Program.
  • Identify issues/obstacles within Dayforce for correction or improvement
  • Work closely with HRIS team to make sure benefits and LOA’s are working as designed in HCM system.
  • Manage and ensure that COBRA administration is meeting legislative deadlines
  • Assist as needed with workers’ compensation insurance claims processing, resolve issues and answer questions from providers.
  • Participate in open enrollment process to include Dayforce building/testing, communication development, enrollment follow-up and enrollment audits.
  • Maintains separate and compliant employee benefit records

Education and Qualifications:

  • 3 – 5 years of related employee benefits experience
  • 1 – 2 years Ceridian Dayforce experience
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws related to leaves and benefits (Health and welfare, and retirement) required.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work with minimal direction while maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency.
  • Ability to provide exceptional employee experience and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to solve problems and create workflow efficiencies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong attention to detail and accuracy while managing multiple projects and processes.
  • Adaptable and flexible to changing work environments and complex employee needs.

  • Ability to communicate plan designs to the users of the benefit plans.
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Working Conditions :
