Job Description

Akkodis is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer for a Full-Time Permanent role with a client located in Forney, TX and ideally strong hands-on PLC, Siemens- S7, SCADA, AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles), MAS, MES, QMS, EMS, WMS, TPM integration, Fanuc and KUKA

Rate Range: $95- $115k/annum (The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Client Update:

Seeking a hands-on Automation & Controls Engineer with strong experience in Siemens PLC systems, robotics integration (Fanuc/KUKA), and controls engineering within a manufacturing environment (not R&D). This individual will support the launch and scale-up of client’s new battery production facility in the Mesquite/Forney, TX area.

Should come from manufacturing operations, not research or academic labs

Ideal candidates might come from custom automation vendors (e.g., ATC Automation, Eagle Technologies) or battery equipment suppliers

Top Required Skills:

PLC expert - Must have Siemens PLC experience, ideally S7

SCADA system interaction – ideal experience

SCADA systems are fully interconnected; integration experience is a plus

HMI (Siemens), 2D/3DVision Systems (Cognex, Keyence), Controls Hardware

Robotics experience: Fanuc and KUKA

Experience in semi-automated production environments

Must have experience in newer automation/controls technology, not old gear/motor manufacturing facility experience

Able to read, create, and modify electrical schematics

Familiarity with EAM systems (for PM/spare parts tracking)

Equipment safety and human-machine risk tech awareness

Understanding of North American controls standards (FMEA, Risk Assessment, ISO/ANSI/RIA)

Preferred Skills:

Experience with AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) is a strong plus, though not required

Exposure to MAS, MES, QMS, EMS, WMS, TPM integration

Experience developing automation standards for multi-site operations - will be the primary for this at client
